Mera is Xebel's former queen, queen of Atlantis, wife of the Aquaman. A few years later, Black Manta rays kidnapped Aquababy and trapped him in a choking, translucent container.In order to save her son, Vulko sent her on an emergency trip to Dimension Aqua in search of a medical device that would heal her son, but when she arrived at Dimension Aqua, she found that the kingdom was under Leron's control, she fighted with Leron , finally win and get medical equipment.Unfortunately, by the time she returned to Atlantis, it was too late and Aquababy was dead.
The death of their son caused an emotional rift between the Aquaman and Mera, and the two decided to move to the east coast of the United States to start a new life. During this period, Aquaman was mainly devoted to rebuilding the justice league in Detroit. Mera's mood became more sad and unstable as she returned to Atlantis. Soon after, a giant emotional alien jellyfish attacked and captured Atlantis, and the Aquaman went to the rescue. Mera escaped and aggressively attacked the Aquaman ,blaming his son's death on his weakness. In the process of self-defense, the Aquaman push Mera to a raised metal by accidentally. Thinking that she was killed by mistake, Aquaman took her coffin to Atlantis palace for burial. But Mera did not die because of her unique body structure. Sitting up from the casket, she painfully reminded the Aquaman that he was too ignorant and don't concerned about herself and that there was no need to her stay on Atlantis again, final returning to Dimension Aqua.
